Hundreds of workers are gathered on both ends of the tunnel to finally open the road to traffic. Camera crews are waiting there - keep an eye out on TV tonight for the Los Arqueros Estates car passing through amongst the first cars!

For those of you who have driven along the Costa del Sol and have passed San Pedro at least once, you better sit down before reading further. It has been spotted that the San Pedro tunnel is having its white road lines painted. Construction has started around 4 years ago, and planning many decades before that, so it will be with a sigh of relief that most drivers-by, as well as San Pedro residents, will receive this new development. Your trip to and from Los Arqueros and the Marbella area might well be 10-12 minutes shorter soon.

In an effort to boost property sales of second homes, the Spanish government has announced a halving of the capital gains tax on second homes purchased this year. Any property sales that are not between parents and their children between now and the end of 2012 qualify for the reduction. The tax break, which is aimed at property investors and holiday home buyers, will apply to both individuals and companies.

Holders of the Resident Twilight Golf Card are now entitled to a special -20% discount on ordinary green fees, from 8:00 to 14:00 hours.
