"According to Morgan Stanley Spain is the second best country in Europe for investments in 2013.
Switzerland then Spain are the top two investing recommendations of Morgan Stanley.
Having checked assets’ behaviour in November, Morgan Stanley analysts said Tuesday in an investor note that Europe has overpassed the US, with MSC Europe at +2.6 percent versus S&P 500 at +0.6 percent. The bank’s experts remarked that estimates on profits have improved in Europe to a point that suggests it will not lose further ground in the short and medium term.
As for Spain, Morgan Stanley explained that its “strategy advisers have highlighted Spain as one of the potential surprises in 2013, along other peripheral euro country members.” Spain has been upgraded on economy rankings to the second position–only behind Switzerland–, its best marks since the third quarter of 2009.
'We expect premium risk spreads between core euro countries’ sovereign bonds and peripherals’ to keep decreasing, even down to 155 basis points to 75 basis points if the European Central Bank activates the outright market transaction programme,' the report said.
France fell down to 12th place, while Germany remained among the top five choices for investment."

As you know, every year any non-resident owning property in Spain is obligated to submit a Property Imputed Income Tax declaration and now again the Property Wealth Tax, after its recent reintroduction.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: You should know that until now, if a debt were contracted with the Treasury in Spain by a Spanish foreigner, the Spanish Tax Authorities had to meet many issues before they could act against foreigners residing outside of Spain.
However, a ministerial order of July 31, 2010 has set out within European territory that any foreign debt will allow the Ministry of Finance, electronically, to make reports of foreclosures and repossessions of property situated in other states of the European Union in order to meet debts incurred in Spain.
The European Union tax system agreed that the Tax Authorities will facilitate information and will report about the state of any debtor and guarantors of a debt in order to make feasible the placement of an embargo on Spanish properties or properties located in the United Kingdom and other European Union country, taking the necessary legal measures to enable these debts are paid against the property, Bank accounts will also be considered.
This procedure will not be used to satisfy all different types of debts but those contracted with the IRS for non-payment of Value Added Tax (VAT), Income Tax of Individuals (income tax), Wealth Tax and other excise duties.
To facilitate this process, the Ministry of Finance will have the cooperation of other agencies such as the Labor Inspectorate and the General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS), guaranteeing the confidentiality and security of citizen data information.
Your financial advisor can assist you in this obligation by providing you with advice on the following:
• Calculating the tax due on the basis of the ratable value and the number of days of ownership (if you bought or sold last year), ensuring you do not pay more than strictly required.
• Filling out the forms with your personal and property information.
• Submitting to the tax office our appointment as your fiscal representatives in Spain, thereby assuming the responsibility of receiving any formal communication and acting timely upon them.
• Representing you during the fiscal year in respect of any communications which may received from the Tax Office.
In order for us to calculate the total tax liability, your financial advisor would need to know the following for the properties they have represented you in the purchase/sale etc.
• Ratable Value on the last IBI receipt. This is shown on the IBI (Impuesto de Bienes Inmuebles-Council Tax) receipt under the name of ""valor catastral"". Please note that new properties (less than 2 years) might not have a ratable value assigned yet.
• In case you rented, number of total days you have rented out the property (if applicable and only if such rental has been declared).
Most importantly, if you or any of the people who purchased jointly with you (where applicable) were Spanish residents or not. In such case, these people would not be liable.
Also, for every non-resident tax-payer the advisor would need to know the full details of any other properties they might own in Spain, together with the ratable value and the number of days the property has been rented (where applicable). "

"REL Technical Services (Mijas Costa) has been carrying out work on behalf of Los Arqueros Estates for a number of years. R22 refrigerant (HCFC) is widely used in European air conditioning (approx 95% of all the air conditioning systems in Los Arqueros uses R22)
We feel that as responsible companies, we must make you aware of recent legislation regarding HCFC R22, which may have an impact on you. From 1st January 2004 no more heat pump equipment was manufactured that uses refrigerant R22. From 1st January 2015 the use of all HCFC gasses including recycled materials will be banned.
What are the options?1. Replacement of units
By far the most environmentally responsible solution is to completely replace existing HCFC R22 equipment with modern HFC based alternatives, which offer improved energy efficiency meaning lower operating costs. HFC systems are quieter and more reliable. Many original HCFC R22 systems were cooling only, whereas they can now be replaced with heat pumps offering efficient year round heating and cooling.
2. Do nothing
If your systems are working and are maintained, do not leak or require work where the refrigerant 22 has to be removed or components changed which involves the refrigerant circuit the legislation states that no action is mandatory.
3. Retrofit
The refrigerant 22 can be recovered from the A/C systems and a drop in replacement HFC blended Refrigerant introduced, which adheres to the new legislation. Although this fulfils the requirements the replacement refrigerant, it is costly and does not reduce the energy consumption of the equipment.

"Pablo Liev, renowned Málaga-based architect had a vision for a lifestyle concept which married contemporary Mediterranean living with dramatic nature and scenery. Ten years ago Pablo, along with Javier Ballester and Igor Barbovitch (Taylor Woodrow HQ)made a presentation to Taylor Woodrow about the vision they had for a new residential urbanization in Benahavis, near Marbella, Spain. He presented his ideas for an urbanization made up of villas and clusters of apartments in “Mediterranean Villages” in an elevated position offering the most amazing views, while being surrounded by nature. The meeting was a complete success and Pablo’s team were entrusted with the creation of the project. Pablo recalls,” I remember feeling very excited with the prospect of being part of a large new development, especially considering we were just coming out of the financial crisis of the early 1990’s.”
The concept of Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club was to incorporate contemporary Mediterranean architecture into the natural beauty and scenery of the location. The built environment had to integrate effortlessly into the area, so the essential essence was not lost. To this end, Pablo enlisted the help of Antonio Bazán and Agrojardin, specialists in landscaping and gardening, to work with his team. The aim was to try to make the architecture go unnoticed, “sitting naturally in the area as though having always been there”.
The client profile Pablo was designing Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club around was clear, both local and foreign residents enjoying a love of golf and leisure as well as appreciating natural beauty and surroundings and being part of a close community. 15 years after that first presentation to Taylor Woodrow, Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club is nearing completion and as Pablo walks through the urbanization he feels that they managed to achieve a good balance of architecture and natural landscape.
The ethos of Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club as an urbanization was to provide a number of individual developments in the form of “villages”. To this end no two communities are the same, each has its own identity. La Torre, for example, is named after and built around an ancient Andalucian look-out tower which remains in place today, Las Terrazas occupies an elevated position in which just over 40 properties occupy superior south/south westerly views. Los Almendros is the only townhouse development on Los Arqueros, providing a small number of homes each with private terraces or gardens.
Pablo’s team of architects has gone on to work with Taylor Woodrow on a further number of projects, including Salblanca in Marbella, La Mairena in Ojén and Las Mimosas in Estepona as well as the Taylor Woodrow building in Teatinos. They have worked on hotel projects for the Aldiana Hotel in Alcaidesa and El Fuerte in El Rompido, Huelva, as well as commercial centres along the Costa del Sol. Internationally, they are currently working on hotel projects in Jamaica and Aruba.
Pablo concludes by saying that the success of Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club is a culmination of the architectural skills, landscaping expertise and close relationships with Benahavis Town Hall and the employees of Taylor Woodrow. He believes that the effort of all the people who have been involved has been for the benefit and well being of all residents, golfers and visitors to Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club.
Golf most powerful tourist attraction for Costa del Sol26/10/2008
"Golf is considered to be one of the most powerful attractions in Málaga for international tourists, and a report released by the Costa del Sol Tourist Board confirms this. According to this report, 292, 000 travellers visit the province to play golf, bringing 120,000 companions along. Moreover, comparative data show that a third of the international golfers coming to Spain choose the Costa del Sol as their destination.
The report also states that golf travellers’ expenditure amounts to €940M. With 62 golf courses in 13 municipalities, the Costa del Sol makes an ideal travel destination for sports lovers. These golf facilities account for 17.3 pct of those available in Spain.
The facts and figures of the golf travel industry in Málaga are remarkable: 4M overnight stays, an average length of stay of 13.7 days, and daily expenses over €126 per tourist.
Moreover, the Tourist Board believes the sector’s future prospects to be bright, mainly because its qualified demand profile is not sensitive to economic uncertainty. 20 pct golf courses expect the number of golfers to be similar to last year, while 28% think the influx of golf travellers will rise. Overall, 2,400 direct jobs are associated with the golf industry on the Costa del Sol.
The impact of the golf travel industry on the regional economy is beyond doubt. With time, golf has become an essential component of Málaga’s travel offer. A growing number Spanish players are coming to the Costa del Sol, the report states, and chances to seize market shares in long-distance destinations, such at the US or Australia, are big.
